Wow. I am so glad I went with the 4″!! I was so worried it wouldn’t be soft enough or that, as a stomach sleeper, with the side of my head against the surface that I wouldn’t be able to breath well if I sink to much. Lol. It doesn’t affect breathing when laying in that position. I have also have a mattress protector on it that I was also worried it wouldn’t fit. My new Dynasty 14.5″ bed with this 4″ topper didn’t have any issues with getting the protector on. I will need to get deeper pocket sheets unfortunately. Lol. But other then that I love how it feels. Very comfortable. It’s like a slightly firmer marshmallow!I was apprehensive about buying one of these because I’m overweight, but we did some research and this seemed to be the highest rated one. Then it went on sale. We’ve been using it for a few months now and are quite happy with the results. Our pillowtop just didn’t support me well enough, this does, and my fiancee says it’s like sleeping on a cloud. The only recommendation I have for this is purchasing a waterproof mattress cover like you would/should for a mattress anyway. We purchased one and it fit around both our mattress and the mattress topper very well. We purchased the Maevis one, for anybody that is wondering.t’s a little hotter than I wish it were but I’ll grow used to it. It is incredibly comfortable, if you like it soft and fluffy. If you are looking for something firm, this is not for you. With four inches of memory foam, you will slowly sink in. Which also means when you move during the night, it will feel like you are lying on top of a hill for a minute 😉 It is not really bothering me but I think you should be warned. Now when they say “Infused with gel material that captures and distributes heat for a cooler memory foam experience”… It sure doesn’t feel cool. It is hotter than my 8 inches memory foam mattress on which the topper is. It is tolerable, and I get hot easily, but don’t expect the cool experience you would have with 4000$ memory foam mattress, which is only normal considering the price tag of this topper.

Mattress Topper vs. Mattress Pad vs. Mattress Protector
When researching mattress topper options, it’s important to understand that a mattress topper, a mattress pad and a mattress protector are all different things—even though they all sit on top of your mattress.
- A mattress topper adds several inches of extra padding and comfort by creating a cushion of support for your body.
- A mattress pad is very similar to a fitted bed sheet as it wraps around the mattress and isn’t as thick as a mattress topper. Mattress pads are typically best to protect your mattress from stains and spills, while adding a little bit of added comfort.
- A mattress protector is used you protect your mattress from stains and spills, as well as unwanted dust mites and bedbugs. Mattress protectors can be similar to a fitted bed sheet or they can encase the entire mattress for even more protection.
We understand it may not be time for you to replace your mattress, but it might be a good time to accessorize your sleep space with a new mattress topper for your bed.
Here are some shopping tips to find the best mattress topper.
Consider Your Price Point
Mattress toppers can range in price and quality. Think about what you’re looking for in a mattress topper, evaluate your budget and test out a few at varying price points to help make your decision.
Think About Thickness
Mattress toppers can be anywhere from two and six inches thick. Many materials like memory foam can retain body heat, so if you sleep warm, look for mattress toppers that feature cooling materials for additional temperature regulation. Keep in mind that you may need deep pocket sheets to fit over the topper and mattress combined. Be sure to measure both to know what size sheets you will need for your bed
Evaluate Your Needs
Be sure to read the description, care instructions and function of each mattress topper and evaluate them against your sleeping needs before making a decision. For example, if you want a topper for extra back support, a memory foam or latex material tends to be most effective. If you are looking to make your bed feel more luxurious, a feather bed might be a better fit.
